In this episode, we explore the rising trend of central planning and socialist ideals spreading across the political spectrum. Both the left and right increasingly turn to government intervention through top-down economic and social programs, ranging from protective tariffs to universal family subsidies and corporate nationalization. We argue that these policies stem from a deep distrust of individual freedom and the free market.
